| Description | The Youtube audio is playing when the other app is foreground. It's not reproduced every time, but it's very easy to reproduce. The reproduce steps are as follows, 1. Open the Youtube and run any contents, you can hear the Youtube audio. 2. Press the "NUGU" button of RCU, say "Zemkids". Then the Zemkids application will be opened. 3. Sometimes, the Youtube audio was played on Zemkids application. And, when you go back to Youtube using "Back" button, the Youtube app only displayed black screen. The prebuilt Youtube version is 2.13.08 and there is no problem with 2.13.08 version. And, there is an update of Youtube, the version is 2.16.032. This issue was only happened with 2.16.032 version. The audio focus will be changed as 2 cases, 1. Youtube -> NUGU(transient) -> Youtube -> Zemkids 2. Youtube -> NUGU(transient) -> Zemkids -> Youtube(2.16.032 only) I don't know why the sequence are variety, but I guess it's related with Android framework(Activity lifecycle or audio focus manager). In case 2, the Youtube app(2.16.032) request the audio focus although the Youtube is not the foreground application. At that time, the Youtube audio is played but the foreground application is Zemkids. Could you please check this issue and report to Google Issue Tracker? | ||||

Hi Sangmin. As our experience in mantis 1441. Google will ask us to proof this issue on SoC's reference platform which does not includ any Middleware softwares. (Because it may be Middleware's issue) In my test, if I use am start to launch Zemkids while Youtube is running, there is no this issue. So, I think NUGU is a key point to reproduce this issue. And we also need to provide the reproduce steps to Google when reporting issue. But I think they do not have NUGU. So, we need to your help to do the following things to let us verify this issue on SoC's EVK: 1.A simple apk(android service) like NUGU to do the same audiofocus control in background. You may ask NUGU developer to provide it. If possible, please also provide the source code of this sample. This is for let Google make sure there is no problem in this simple apk. 2.Please confimr if we can provide the Zemkids apk to google if issue can be reproduced by above simple apk? If the answer is no, please provide a simple zemkids like app to do the same audiofocus control. |

Hi Sangmin, For above 1 simple apk like NUGU. please implement it as following, so we can test it on EVK: 1.Simple apk (like NUGU) needs to be able to trigger by command (for example receive intent to trigger it, so we can use " am boradcast" to trigger it). Because Gooogle may not have your RCU and EVK may not support NUGU keycode. 2.When Simple apk is triggered, it needs to do the same audiofocus contorl as NUGU. 3.When Simple apk is triggered, it needs to launch Zemkids app. |

Hi, River, I have a good news, you can reproduce this issue using Youtube and Google Assistant. [ Reproduce step ] 1. Open Youtube and play any contents. 2. Press Google Assistant key on RCU and say "settings", then the Android settings menu will be opened. 3. There should be no audio under Android settings menu. There is no audio with Youtube 2.13.08 version. And, with Youtube 2.17.006 version, you can hear the Youtube audio under Android settings menu. I used the GTVS Beta program account, so the Youtube version is 2.17.006, but the Youtube 2.16.032 version has same issue. Please check the above reproduce step. I think you can report this issue with above things. |

Hi Sangmin, After using your method about using google assistant to launch setting. I check the audiofocus log. But I think it is different issue with your original one. You can see the follow log and descriptions. 1.The original log with NUGU to launch Zemkid is below. As you can see, the last requestAudioFocus() is from Zemkids, but youtube still output audio. Hi, River, I doubt the root cause is the Youtube get or request Audio Focus despite of the Youtube is not the foreground activity. Could you please check my opinion is correct or not? Does it make sense? As you mentioned, there is no "requestAudioFocus()" log message.
